Two rallies to commemorate the surrender of Japan in World War Ⅱ

On August 15, the anniversary day for the surrender of Japan in the World War Ⅱ, there were many rallies been held in Tokyo. In Ginza, there was a paper lantern demonstration as part of a global action in solidarity with the Wednesday
Demonstration in Korea. The former military sex slave, Song Sin-do was at the forefront of the demonstrators, who handed out fans calling out to settle the military sex slave issue.

Another action targeted Yasukuni Shrine, which enshrines the war dead. “Anti-Yasukuni Action to question Xenophobia and the Emperor system” staged a demonstration heading to the Yasukuni Shrine. The participants of the action raised the issues of war responsibility and the Japan’s responsibility on colonial rule and denounced the Emperor system. 8.15敗戦記念日～「慰安婦」「ヤスクニ」戦争責任問う2つのデモ

敗 戦記念日の8月15日、都内では市民団体によるさまざまな集会・デモが行われた。銀座では、韓国水曜デモに連帯する世界同時アクションとして、「ちょうち んデモ」が行われた。元「慰安婦」被害者のシン・ソンドさんを先頭に、「『慰安婦』被害者に謝罪と賠償を」というメッセージが記された「うちわ」を配りな がら、「慰安婦」問題の解決を訴えた。また、「排外主義と天皇制を問う 8.15反『靖国』行動」は、靖国神社に向けてデモ行進。日本の戦争責任・植民地支配責任の追及、そして反天皇制の声を上げた。九段下周辺は、日の丸を 持ってデモ隊に突入しようとする右翼と警備の機動隊などで、もみくちゃ状態になったが、デモは無事終了した。（M）
