We don’t need Osprey!—10,000 people surround Diet in solidarity with Okinawa

We don’t need dangerous Osprey! About 10,000 people held each other’s hands to surround the Diet building on Sept. 9 in solidarity with Okinawa People’s Rally. Sidewalk in front of the main gate was flooded with people in red, color symbolic to this action. When the organizer announced that more than 100,000 people were attending Okinawa rally, people in Tokyo applauded and the voices of solidarity echoed. “It is the Japanese government that forced danger for a long time to Okinawa,” TAKAHASHI Tetsuya said at the event. “But we have the responsibility. We have to raise our voiced in the central Japan where politics takes place.” Many participants of this demonstration were from anti-nuclear movement. オスプレイはいらない！～沖縄に連帯して1万人が国会包囲

危険な普天間基地に危険はオスプレイはいらない！ 9月9日、沖縄県民大会に連帯する「国会包囲」行動が午前11時から取り組まれた。議事堂正門前は、労働組合や市民団体など様々な旗が林立し人波で埋まっ た（写真）。シンボルカラーの赤を身に付けている人も多い。主催者が「沖縄現地集会に10万人以上が集まった」と速報をアナウンスすると、大きな歓声と拍 手が起きた。集会で高橋哲哉さんは「沖縄に長い間危険を押しつけてきたのは日本政府だが、それを許している私たちにも責任がある。本土のわれわれが声を上 げてこの国の政治を変えよう」と呼びかけた。正午すぎには約1万人の参加者が手をつなぎ、国会は完全に包囲された。脱原発金曜デモの参加者も多く、「同じ 根っこの問題」「デタラメ野田政権は許せない」の声が聞かれた。（M）
