Anti-nuke tent is a source of encouragement: LaborNet “Aozora Program”

More than 70 audiences gathered the 32nd Aozora (Open-air) Program
of LaborNet, which was on air from the Anti-nuke tent in front of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on May 3, 2013. SATO Sachiko (photo), a member of the Fukushima Network for Saving Children from Radiation, joined the program after a while and talked about the current situation in Fukushima. She said, The Fukushima Prefectural Government says that there is no problem with a small amount of radioactivity. It even says that ten children with thyroid cancer among 30,000 ones will never die soon and can be cured. It subsidizes the consumption of local foodstuffs that are possibly contaminated with radiation. Sato strongly criticized the prefectural government for trying to hide the contamination from the public. She also emphasized, Although we are facing difficult situations in Fukushima, we are encouraged whenever we come to the tent and meet the people who are against nuclear power. The tent is a source of encouragement and must survive. (M)
