娘を殺そうと思って殺した人間を、国政の場に送りだすので本当にいいのかと、自民党に問いたいと、ワタミで長時間労働を強いられ過労自死に追いやられた森美菜さんの両親が、６月２８日自民党本部をおとずれた。渡邉美樹前ワタミフードサービス会長を参院選比例区候補として擁立する件について、自民党に考え直すよう要請した。「２４時間３６５日死ぬまで働け」というワタミの理念は、「殺すつもりで殺したと言ってもいい。殺意を持って娘を雇い、低賃金でギリギリまで使って殺したあとには、『責任はない』と言う。確信犯と呼んでいいのではないか」と記者会見で語気を強めたのは、美菜さんの父・豪さんだった。自民党本部には何を伝えるつもりかとの質問に、豪さんは「単純素朴に聞きたいだけです。『こういう人で本当にいいのですか』と」と答えた。（松元ちえ）
