1200 gather to protest deployment of Ospreys at Iwakuni, Okinawa

Despite heavy rain, some 1200 people gathered for the rally to protest deployment of Ospreys at Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Okinawa Prefecture was held in front of Iwakuni City Hall on July 28. People came from across Japan including those who are protesting Camp Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture, unionists from western Japan, members of Asian Wide Campaign from northern Japanese island of Kyushu and lawmakers from the upper house. I felt the strong sense of solidarity spreading. Next comes the action to stop deployment of Ospreys since they are scheduled for deployment on July 30.  大雨のなか1200人集まる～オスプレイの岩国陸揚げと沖縄配備に反対する集会
7 月28日、オスプレイの岩国陸揚げと沖縄配備に反対する集会が、岩国市役所前広場で開催されました。山口は記録的な大雨に襲われ、集会中も雨が降り続く中 ではありましたが、1200名もの人が集まりました。天候のため、予定していたのに参加できなかった方もたくさんいらしたことと思います。遠くは、静岡で キャンプ富士反対行動に取り組む方から、関西の労働組合の方。九州の私たちアジア共同行動（AWC）の仲間まで。参議院議員の方も参加されていました。岩 国連帯の輪の広がりを感じました。参加者の皆さん、お疲れまさでした。次はいよいよ、オスプレイの陸揚げ阻止行動です。30日に陸揚げされることが明らか になりました。来れる方は、7時～または10時出発のデモ行進に、是非ご参加ください。（AWC山口・板橋）
