One step closer to job security of non-regular employees: Achievement of strike

On April 17, 2015, the Metro Commerce local of the National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu, which consists of non-regular employees of kiosks of Tokyo Metro subway stations, conducted collective negotiations in central Tokyo with Metro Commerce, the employer, over job security of some of the employees who became 65, the age of retirement, at the end of March. The management of Metro Commerce offered the details of work for them to the union for the first time. The management commented, “We are going to hire tentatively”, as a result of a strike launched on April 1, but the union and the employees came one step closer to the job security. (SUDA Mitsuteru)
