7800 gathered for Hibiya May Day

On May 1^st, May Day rallies were held across the country and in the Hibiya May Day in Tokyo 7800 workers gathered. There were four speeches from workers representing contingent workers, migrant workers, dismissed workers groups and peace movement.

Filipina workers terminated from hotel janitorial job are fighting back joining the Zentoitsu Union. 21 flight attendants were dismissed from United Airlines in February. One of the dismissed, NOZAWA Tomoko, said, “We will not let the unfair dismissal go. We fight on to get reinstatement.”  HISHIYAMA Nahoko urged the participants to join the May 3^rd rally to defend the Japanese Constitution. “Since the Abenomics has failed, the Abe government will tighten its dictatorship towards war. We have to stop that and change the politics by joint action of the labor movement and the citizens’ movement.” I asked a child care worker what she thinks about what Abe is saying. Her answer was, “People are angry with Abe. We have to stop Abe’s way of doing politics. We need a wage hike for a decent living and more day care centers for children.” (M)

保育労働者「安倍のやり方に現場は怒っている！」～日比谷メーデーに7800人

五月晴れの5月1日、全国各地でメーデーが開催されたが、日比谷メーデーには7800人が集まった。集会で、非正規雇用・外国人労働者・争議団・反戦平和の 4つの現場から訴えがあった。ホテル清掃業で派遣切りされたフィリピン労働者は、泣き寝入りせずに組合をつくり闘争中だ。また大手航空会社「ユナイテッド航空」では、今年2月に客室乗務員21名の解雇事件が起きている。問答無用のやり方に対して、当該の野沢智子さんは「不当解雇許さず、仕事を取り戻すまで たたかう」と力強く語った。5.3憲法集会の大結集を呼びかけたのは菱山南帆子さん。「アベノミクス失敗で安倍政権は“戦争・独裁”を強めてくるはず。それを止めて政治状況を変えるには、市民運動と労働運動の協力しかない！」と檄を飛ばした。保育労働者がいたので「安倍の言っていることをどう思うか」と聞いてみた。「現場は怒っている。安倍のやり方では全然だめ。基準を守った保育園の増設と生活できる賃金アップこそが必要」と痛烈に政府を批判した。（M） 写真速報・動画（5分半）・shinyaの写真報告・中央メーデー（赤旗）・郡山メーデー報告・動画（郡山メーデー）・釜ヶ崎メーデー
