7000 rally for Hibiya May Day

On May 1^st, 7,000 people gathered for the 88^th Hibiya May Day. Speakers included women, contingent and migrant workers, who are the most impoverished and discriminated workers in Japan. A contingent worker from a public library demanded paid sick leave. A Filipina hotel worker, fired when she protested wage reduction, said, ”We will prevail because we have a union.” Five members of the Tokyo Tobu Union Metro Commerce Local, who lost a wage discrimination case in March, spoke next. Union President USHIRO Yoshiko, declared, “We will fight discrimination not only in the court, but through our movement. Please join our action this afternoon against Tokyo Governor Koike who is a stock holder of Metro Commerce.”

日比谷メーデーに7000人～東部労組は「非正規差別なくせ！」と都庁行動

5月1日、第88回日比谷メーデーには会場内外あわせて7000人が集まった。労働現場か

らアピールしたのは、女性・非正規・外国人労働者だった。今の日本の状況で、貧困

と差別に一番苦しんでいるのもかれらだった。練馬区の図書館で働く非常勤職員は

「有給の病気休暇を！」など人間として生きるあたりまえの権利を掲げていた。ホテ

ルでベッドメイキングの仕事をしていた外国人労働者は、賃下げに文句をいっただけ

でクビになり争議中だ。「でも私たちには組合があるから負けない」とフィリピンの

女性は力強く語った。3月に不当判決を受けたばかりの東部労組メトロコマース支部5

人が登壇。後呂良子委員長は「裁判だけでなく実際の運動で差別をなくしていく」と

宣言、さっそく「東京メトロ株主の東京都・小池知事への要請行動を本日行う。一緒

にたたかおう」と呼びかけた。遠征闘争中の韓国サンケン労組はユルトンを披露して
