Some 300 people enjoyed music performance at the 17th annual charity concert, titled, “We are living this moment with our neighbors,” in Tokyo on Dec. 13. The event, which was cancelled two consecutive years, is held by Hoshi-no-ie every year to support the homeless people. The venue was filled with excitement. The tone-chime music was performed by Sylvester Choir, led by Conductor Mako Sugano. The soft, gentle melody that tone chime resonates is only possible with a solid team work, according to Sugano, who also introduced secret of success of the choir. (By Y)
野宿者、路上生活者を支援するチャリティコンサート開かれる
野宿者、路上生活者を支援する年末恒例のチャリティコンサートが12月13日夜、都内で開かれた。300人の観客たちはクリスマスを前に、美しい演奏と歌を心ゆくまで楽しんだ。コンサートは毎年この時期に、支援団体「ほしのいえ」が企画。昨年の休止で2年ぶりの開催になる。17回目の今年は「今ここに生きる 隣人とともに」とうたう。東京荒川区の「ムーブ町屋」ホールは、開演前から熱気に包まれていた。プログラムの最初は、「シルベスタークワイヤー」によるトーンチャイムの演奏。トーンチャイムは、アルミ合金製のパイプを叩いて共鳴させる楽器で、やわらかく優しい音色が特徴だ。奏者一人が単音を担当するため、何よりもチームワークが重要になる。指揮の菅野真子さんは、メンバーが仲良く練習する秘訣をユーモラスに紹介した。（報道部・Y）
