 It’s touching to see that young people are holding hands, joining shoulders and guarding their colleagues with kisses, songs and their bodies! From today (Dec. 5), we are holding a display at our booth and a meeting at the popular forum against COP21 at Montreuil in Paris. There, we will be making an appeal to the world leaders and citizens, displaying panels of the disaster caused by Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant and banners with pictures. On Dec.10, connecting Paris and Tokyo, we will hold an event named, “Emergency Declaration - Paris/Tokyo : capitalism, climate change, colonialism and terrorism,” at “Café Lavanderia” in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

‘No violence against women and children’ campaign launched in Paris to restore honor in ‘comfort women’

 

 A series of actions and appeals calling to resolve the issues of comfort women (sex slaves) were launched in Paris from Nov. 24 to Dec. 2. Kil Won-ok of the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Sex Slavery for the Japanese Imperial Army, who testified at Sorbonne University in June 2014 as well as Professor Hirofumi Hayashi and Yan Ching-ja from Japan joined the delegation to take part in the Wednesday Demonstration, a press conference and an international conference.

 November 25^th is an international day to commemorate "No Violence Against Women and Children." Yoon Mee-hyang, the Korean Council director, and Kil Won-ok gave a speech on the eve of the festival held by the City of Paris. Nov. 26 marked the 1154^th Wednesday Demonstration---the 22 years of unbroken protest. French, Korean and Japanese attendants turned out for the candle demonstration at Trocadero Human Rights Square, Paris. A Japanese woman participating in the demonstration said how she was shocked to listen to the testimony on TV in France in August 1991 made by Kim Hak-soon, who became the first to speak that she was a comfort woman.

 Despite the repeated recommendations issued by various UN organizations such as Commission on Human Rights, Commission on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination or UN special report and ILO, the Abe administration continues to deny the historical facts about the Sexual Slavery System for the Japanese Imperial Army. Historic revisionism is going on rampage within political arena, main media, not withstanding education including school textbooks. The Korean Council is trying to reach out to global community asserting that the Japanese government should formally acknowledge, apologize and accept the responsibility for its Imperial Armed Forces’ coercing women into sexual slavery.

フランス・パリ : 日本軍「慰安婦」問題の解決を求めてアピール

 
11 月24日～12月2日、日本軍「慰安婦」（性奴隷制度）問題の解決を呼びかける催しとアピールがフランスのパリで行われた。今回は挺対協とキル・ウォノク さんのほか、日本から林博史教授と梁澄子（ヤン・チンジャ）さんが代表団に加わり、「水曜デモ」や記者会見、国際会議に参加した。11月25日は折しも 「女性に対する暴力と闘う」国際デーである。挺対協代表の尹美香（ユン・ミヒャン）さんとキル・ウォノクさんは、パリ市が催した前夜祭に参加して発言し た。「水曜デモ」第1154回目にあたる11月26日は、トロカデロの人権広場で夕刻にキャンドル・デモが催され、フランス人、韓国人、日本人が集まっ た。日本人参加者の女性は、1991年8月、最初に名乗り出た金学順さんの証言シーンをフランスのテレビニュースで見たときの衝撃を語った。
 1990年代以降、国連のさまざまな機関（人権小委員会、女性差別撤廃委員会、社会権規約委員会、人権理事会、自由権規約委員会、拷問禁止委員会）および 特別報告書、またILOによって繰り返し日本政府に対する勧告がなされ、2007年には米国下院、オランダとカナダ下院、欧州議会が「日本軍『慰安婦』被 害者に正義を！」決議案を採択したにもかわらず、日本政府は日本軍性奴隷制度の史実を否認しつづけている。それどころか、安倍政権になってからは「河野談 話」さえも取り消そうとする歴史修正主義が、政界とメディア（ネットを含む）でますます猛威をふるうようになった。韓国挺身隊問題対策協議会（挺対協）は この状況をふまえ、国際社会への働きかけにさらに力を入れている。
