Futenma was stolen from us and should be returned unconditionally

On April 6^th, a protest action was held at the Ministry of Defense in Tokyo. Organized by the Committee to Fight the Construction of Henoko Base, the action started at 6:30 pm. with songs by members of the Japan Musicians' Association, who ignored  the attempted interference by right wing groups waving the Hinomaru, the national flag of Japan. After the chanting, Okinawa-born SHIMABUKURO Yoshihiro made a powerful speech; “The land for the Futenma Base was taken away from us by bayonets and bulldozers. The US government is a thief. Futenma should be returned unconditionally. The responsibility lies with the government, and not with Okinawans. The government says we should find a place to relocate Futenma, but that is nonsense.” (OZAWA Kuniko)


「普天間は奪い取ったもので無条件で返すべき」～防衛省抗議行動で島袋さん

 4 月6日、辺野古への基地建設を許さない実行委員会主催の定例防衛省抗議行動があり、参加しました。午後6時半、日の丸を掲げる人たちの妨害をはねのけるよ うに、日音協の方たちの歌が響きました。「ここに座り込め」「沖縄を返せ」などなど、みんなで歌いました。アジア共同行動の方の司会で全員でシュプレヒ コール。続いて紹介された沖縄出身の島袋さん（写真左）。「普天間の代わりの基地をどうするのかと言われるが、普天間は米軍が銃剣とブルトーザーで奪い 取ったもの。強盗のようなものだ。無条件で返すべきだ」と話しました。そして「沖縄に負担させるな。政府の責任だ。政府の態度がまちがっている」と力を込 めました。（尾澤邦子） 

Tokyoites protest against new US base construction in solidarity with Okinawans

More than 300 people from religious groups, labor unions and other civic organizations gathered in front of the prime minister’s residence in Tokyo on March 23 in solidarity with Okinawans protesting against the relocation of Futenma Air Base to Henoko.

 A committee against the new U.S. base construction in Henoko submitted a protest letter against the boring survey and destruction of seabed and demanded a withdrawal of the construction plan to the Cabinet Office.

 Okinawa Governor Onaga ordered the local defense bureau to suspend Henoko construction. The bureau continued with the boring survey without listening to the Okinawans’ voices.

 “We are against building a new base in Henoko,”  YAMASHIRO Hiroji, Okinawa Peace Center chairperson, sent a message to the people in Tokyo. “The Abe administration is suppressing Okinawa with police and Maritime Safety brutality and acting like a colonialist.”

 The protest followed an event a week earlier on the issue of new base in Henoko, which drew about 290 people and nearly 20 parliamentarians.

 “We went to the defense bureau to file a protest today,” TERUYA Hironori, upper house member (photo), spoke at the event. “We demanded that the bureau immediately suspend the boring survey and close the Futenma Air Base. Enough is enough. Okinawans are furious.” Denny TAMAKI, another lawmaker, who accompanied Teruya to the bureau, reported, “Indifference is the cause of bad politics. The government doesn’t even try to listen to the voices of Okinawans. The ruling party should explain to the young people that there is no democracy in today’s Japan.”

沖縄県民の意志は辺野古新基地建設にNO！～官邸前で連帯行動

 
３ 月２３日（月）夜、沖縄県民集会（２１日開催）に連帯する官邸前抗議行動があった。東京で基地建設に反対しているさまざまな団 体、宗教者、労働組合など ３００名を超す人が参加し、辺野古新基地建設を強行する安倍政権へ抗議の声をあげた。「辺野古への基地建設を許さない実行委員会」は、安倍首相宛「ボーリ ング調査、岩礁破壊に抗議し、辺野古新基地計画撤回を求める申し入れ書」を内閣府に手渡した。この日、翁長県知事は、沖縄の民意 に一切耳を傾けずボーリン グ調査を強行しようとする沖縄防衛局に、辺野古作業の停止を指示した。沖縄県民の意志は辺野古新基地建設にＮＯ！だ。それを安倍政権は、海上保安庁と警察 の暴力で植民地支配のように抑えつけている。会場に山城博治さん（沖縄平和運動センター議長）からの徹底抗戦の熱い電話メッセー ジが届いた。 （shinya）

がまんの限界を超えている～「辺野古院内集会」で照 屋議員

 
3 月17日午後6時半から、参 議院議員会館講堂において「辺野古新基地問題を考える院内集会」が行われ、会場いっぱいの290名 が参加しました。主催は沖縄 等米軍基地問題議員懇談会。沖縄選出の国会議員をはじめ、20名 の国会議員が参加しました。照屋寛徳衆議院議員（写真）は「今日、玉城議員、仲里議員と防 衛局に抗議要請に行ってきた。直ちにボーリング調査をやめろ、普天間は即時閉鎖すべきと言ってきた。沖縄はがまんの限界を超えている。怒っている」と話し ました。玉城デニー議員は「無関心こそ悪政のもと。与党は沖縄県民の思いがこもった意見を聞こうとしない。若い人たちにわかりや すく話してほしい。今の日 本に民主主義はないということを」と力をこめました。（尾澤邦子）

Counter to Abe with All Okinawa—Human chain at the Diet in protest against Henoko relocation of US air base

Some 7,000 people formed a human chain to surround the Diet on Jan. 25 to speak against the relocation of Futenma Air Base to Henoko, Okinawa. Outrage against the Abe administration, which disrespects Okinawan people’s voices, brought people together. Following the women’s action the week before, the protesters wore something blue to symbolize the ocean of Henoko. A group of Labornet members raised their satirical poems called Senryu: “Counter to Abe with All Okinawa,” “Until we act on our pledge to Dugong into whose eyes we looked.” (By T)

 オール沖縄オール 日本で安倍を討つ」～辺野古基地反対！国会ヒューマンチェーン

1 月25日、先週の「女の平和」国会包囲に続いて、沖縄・辺野古に基地をつくらせないヒューマンチェーン が行われた。沖縄の民意を踏みにじる安倍政権暴走に対する怒りが大きく広がり、こちらも「女の平和」 と同じ7000人の参加で、二重三重に国会を取り囲んだ。シンボルカラーは辺野古の海を象徴する「青」だ った。レイバーネット川柳班は「オール沖縄オール日本で安倍を討つ」「目の合ったジュゴンに約束はた すまで」などの川柳をむしろ旗に掲げて、声を上げた。（T）
