Let’s make a change from Tokyo to stop Prime Minister Abe’s arrogance: Kickoff meeting for Utsunomiya

UTSUNOMIYA Kenji (photo) energetically appealed, “The Nago mayoral election on January 19, 2014 and the Tokyo gubernatorial one on February 4 are crucial for Japan’s future. It’s time for us to make a change from Tokyo to stop Prime Minister Abe’s arrogance. We are never powerless”. The “Kickoff meeting for Utsunomiya for a new Tokyo” was held at the Toshima Kokaido Hall in central Tokyo on January 8, 2014 and filled with 1,200 participants. MAGOSAKI Ukeru, a critic, enthusiastically said, “Japan is really on the brink of war. The people are facing many negative and dangerous things, such as the restarts of nuclear power plants, TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership), Secrecy Protection Act, change of the Worker Dispatching Act for the worse, and increase in the consumption tax. In particular, nuclear power plants are about to be restarted. Only Utsunomiya can send strong messages against such moves. I would like to totally support him”. (M)

テーマカラーの紺のネクタイ姿で登場した宇都宮けんじさん（写真）は、元気いっぱいに演説した。「1月19日の名護市長選と2月9日の都知事選は、日本の未来を決める選挙。安倍暴走を止めるために東京から変えていこう。私たちは微力だが無力ではない」。1月8日夜、東京・豊島公会堂で開かれた「宇都宮けんじとともに東京都を変えていくキックオフ集会」には、会場あふれる1200人が集まり、終始熱気に包まれた。評論家の孫崎享さんは、「日本は戦争前夜のような大変な時代になってきた。原発・TPP・秘密法・派遣法・消費税、中でも原発は再稼働寸前だ。こうした問題にきちんと強力なメッセージを出せるのは宇都宮さんしかいない。全面的に応援したい」と熱く語った。（M）

More than 1,000 people gathered at a park in Tokyo on Nov. 27 in support for UTSUNOMIYA Kenji, former Japan Bar Association, and his Tokyo gubernatorial campaign. KAMATA Satoshi (photo), journalist, made a eloquent supporting speech.

 “Most candidates aside from the one from Liberal Democratic Party of Japan support anti-nuclear energy policy,” Kamata said. “I want you to realize that we created this trend. We gathered with 170,000 people, demonstrated at Prime Minister’s Office and surrounded the Diet building. These are our desperate efforts. But our struggle is not over yet. We must give them the last blow to resolve this important issue in the politicis. We should not, cannot let Naoki Inose, former deputy governor, the next governor. We must make our own governor and realize the society with no more nuclear energy.” (By M)

脱原発の世論つくったのは私たち、最後の詰めを！～鎌田慧さん熱弁

11 月27日、東京・日比谷野音で「宇都宮けんじさんと東京に脱原発を！大集会」が開かれた。震える寒さを吹き飛ばして1000人以上が参加した。応援演説に 立ったルポライターの鎌田慧さん（写真）は熱く訴えた。「今自民を除くほとんどの候補が脱原発を言うようになった。そうした状況をつくったのは私たちだ、 ということを確認してほしい。17万人集会・官邸前行動・国会包囲デモなど必死の努力でここまできた。しかし最後の詰めが残っている。政治の場で解決する ために追撃しなくてはならない。石原の後継者・猪瀬を絶対に知事にしてはいけない。私たちは自分たちの手で私たちの知事をつくり、脱原発を実現しよう」。 （М）
