United Air should reinstate its workers

 

The Japanese cabin attendants of the Continental Micronesia Airline, which is a subsidiary of United Airlines, are in a struggle to get reinstated as they were dismissed due to its closure at Narita Airport. It’s been two years since they filed a lawsuit against the company at Tokyo District Court. United Airlines is a company that saw the record profit, but it dismissed only its Japanese cabin crew. The union insists that this unfair dismissal is to evade Japan’s labor law and a union bashing. The union and its supporters staged its 15th protest action at Narita Airport on Jan. 27 and distributed fliers to passengers of United Air. Some passengers showed support to the union struggle. The UA dispute will be going through the labor commission investigation on Feb. 8, and a hearing at Tokyo District Court on March 1 and April 26. (By Labornet)

ユナイテッド航空は不当解雇を撤回せよ！〜成田空港カウンター前でアピール

成田空港の拠点閉鎖を理由にUA（ユナイテッド航空）から不当解雇された子会社「コンチネンタルミクロネシア航空」の日本人客室乗務員は、「ユナイテッド闘争団」（現在4名）をつくり原職復帰を目指して闘っている。会社を相手に起こした「雇用継続を求める訴訟」は、東京地裁で係争中ですでに2年を経過した。ユナイテッド航空は史上最高益を上げている会社だが、日本人の客室乗務員のみを解雇した。これは、「日本の労働法適用を回避し組合つぶしを狙った“アメリカファースト”である」と組合側は主張している。1月27日（土）午後、成田空港第1ターミナルビルで15回目の抗議行動が行われた。UAカウンター前で乗客・空港関係者にチラシを配布し、ユナイテッド航空の不当性と職場復帰への思いを伝えた。その中で、アメリカ本土で組合をやっている若者が声をかけたり、カンパを直接渡してくれる人もいた。ユナイテッドの争議は、2/8に労働委員会調査、3/1・4/26は東京地裁で口頭弁論が行われる。（レイバーネット編集部）

We successfully reinstated our comrade〜NUGW Tokyo Tobu Tama Milk Branch struggle

 

Members of Tama Milk Branch of National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu on Sept. 25 won the reinstatement of their member who was unfairly dismissed. The collective bargaining session was held for the first time since the dismissal on Sept. 13 at the office of NUGW Tokyo Tobu, where 13 members attended along with the NUGW Tokyo Tobu secretary general.

“I’ve worked earnestly at Tama Milk for more than 20 years,” the union member who was unfairly dismissed said. “I could not be persuaded into leaving work as a dismissal is equally serious as a death sentence.” To this response, other members started shouting, “Immediately reinstate Suzuki (the dismissed member)!” The solidarity of the union members was so strong that the company promised to re-consider its decision. 仲間の雇用を守ったぞ！～東部労組多摩ミルク支部「不当 雇い止め」を撤回させる

東京・葛飾で食品の配送を手がけている多 摩ミルクグループの労働者でつくる全国

一般東京東部労組多摩ミ ルク支部の鈴木明組合員に対する不当な雇い止め解雇の会

社方針 が9月25日に撤回されました。解雇通告後に初めての団体交渉が9 月13日に東

部労組事務所で開かれました。13人の支部組合員と東 部労組本部の須田書記長が交

渉に臨みました。鈴木さん自身が 「20年以上もまじめに多摩ミルクで働いてきた。

それを解雇とい う労働者にとっては死刑に等しい処分を会社が打ち出してきたこ と

には絶対納得いかない」と真剣に訴えました。これに他の組合 員が応え、「鈴木さ

んをただちに職場に戻せ！」の声が次々と起 こりました。組合員の団結に圧倒され

た会社側が処分の再検討を 行うことを約束し、団体交渉は終わりました。（須田光
