Urgent protest at PM residence ~ construction of a helipad in Okinawa’s Takae resumes

A protest action was launched in front of Prime Minister’s residence on July 22 against the construction work of four helipads for Ospreys within the vast Jungle Warfare Training Center in Higashison, Okinawa. The construction was suspended almost nine years ago. Shortly before the action began at the prime minister’s residence, people also staged a protest at the Tokyo Police against the violent suppression by the riot police imposed upon those at entrance gate to the construction site. People chanted, “We don’t want any helipads or Ospreys!” “We need no base in Henoko or Takae!” “Protect our lives and livelihoods, mountains and oceans!” “Riot police, go home! 急抗議行動

7月22日夜8時半過ぎ、反原発金曜行動の余韻が残る首 相官邸前

で、沖縄県国頭郡2村（東村、国頭村）に股がる広大な 「米軍海兵

隊*北部訓練場」で９年ぶりに再開された、「オスプレ イ着陸帯」

４カ所の「ヘリパッド」建設工事の強行に反対する緊 急抗議行動

が行われた。夕方には首相官邸前に先立ち、警視庁前 でも、工事

車両用のゲートがある東村高江に派遣された機動隊の 暴力的な制

圧行為に対する抗議行動が行われた。首相官邸前に駆 けつけた

人々の間から、怒りのコールが沸き上った。「ヘリパッ ドも、オ

スプレイもいらない！」「辺野古にも高江にも、基地は いらな

い！」「命とくらし、山と海を守ろう！」「機動隊は帰 れ、警察

は暴力やめろ！」「安倍政権は工事をやめろ！」「普天 間閉鎖、

嘉手納も閉鎖、基地はいらない！」（西中誠一郎）

Labor Film Festa touches hearts of 320

The annual labor film festa drew 320 people on July 23. Many said they felt encouraged by the movies that were screened. Here is a comment from someone who enjoyed the festa:

 “I never regret coming to see the films, but this year especially, every film shown resonated in our hearts. ‘Pride’ was a very warm film, where gay and mine workers join hands in their struggle. Since we struggle against the government and the police daily, it was such an encouragement. ‘The bomb buried’ helped me understand the damages asbestos caused. I knew there are still many victims, but I thought it was something of the past. I was surprised to see that not all asbestos have been eradicated. 

心に染みわたった作品群～「レイバー 映画祭」320人で大盛況

7月23日のレイバー映画祭には320人が集まり、大盛況 でした。

「元気をもらった」という声をたくさん聞きました。ア ンケート

など集計中ですが、メールで寄せられたKさんの感想を以 下、紹介

します。・・・観客としていつもよかったと思うのです が、今回

はいつにもまして、どの映画も心に染みわたるようなジ ワジワと

くる感じがありました。『パレードへようこそ』は、と てもあた

たかい映画でした。最初の炭鉱からカンパを受け取りに いって戸

惑いながらも「お金ではなく、圧倒的に強い政府や警官 と闘って

いるわれわれへの応援にどれだけ励まされたか‥…」と お礼を言

う場面からじんときてしまいました。『埋もれた時限爆 弾』は、

アスベストについて少しわかるようになりました。まだ 被害者が

出続けていることは知っていましたが、その原因は何十 年も前の

ことだと思っていました。現在は被害が発生しないよう なシステ

ムになっているとばかり思っていたので、驚きました。 

Tokyo gubernatorial election should discuss relocation of Tsukiji Fish Market

 An event to appeal to the Tokyo gubernatorial election candidates to discuss relocation of Tsukiji Fish Market was held on July 20. One of the candidates,  UTSUNOMIYA ,Kenji who dropped out of the race stopped by and said, “I dropped out of the race because Mr. Torigoe agreed to take on one of my proposed policies, which is to suspend relocation of the fish market. I totally support this idea. I pay respect to all of you who have continued to struggle with this issue. I will continue monitoring the Tokyo assembly even after the governor is elected.”

 “Toyosu, the relocation site, is not fit to house a fish market. There should be a Tokyo government run manga cafe,” an architect criticized. A mothers group also made a statement, “This is about food and safety. We strongly urge the new governor to take this as serious issue.” The Tsukiji market is to shut down on Nov. 1. (by Johnny H) 

「築地市場移転問題」を争点化せよ！アクシ ョン～宇都宮健児氏

も発言

7月20日(水)「全都知事候補者に訴える！ 続・『築地 市場移転問

題』を争点化せよ！都庁前アクション」が開催され た。別の集会

に向かう途中だった宇都宮健児さんがマイクをと り、「鳥越さん

は私が取り組む政策に賛同したので、私は立候補 を取りやめた。

特に築地市場の閉鎖は中止にし再検討するという 考えには、全く

その通りだと言った。この問題にずっと取り組ん できたみなさん

には敬意を表し、また新都知事決定後も都議会の 監視を続けてい

く」とエールを送った。建築の専門家の人は 「豊 洲は市場の目的

の設計になっていない。都立漫画喫茶にした方が いい」と厳しい

発言。ママさんたちのグループは 「食の問題なの で、都知事にな

ろうとする人は真剣に取り組んでほしい」と訴え た。いよいよ今

年11月1日予定の築地市場閉鎖日が迫ってきてい る。（ジョニー
