Solidarity action in Tokyo for arrested Bangladeshi workers

 

Last December,  tens of thousand garment workers in Ashulia, Bangladesh, went on a week-long strike seeking higher wages. In retaliation, the Bangladeshi government arrested 35 union activists and dismissed 1600 workers under the Emergency Act. The largest Global Union Federation, IndustriALL, has been supporting the Bangladeshi workers’ struggle for their rights since the 2013 Lana Plaza building tragedy in which  1100 workers died. Since their affiliate members were arrested, IndustriALL is now calling  a Global Campaign on February 15^th to 16^th for the release of the arrested workers.

 In Tokyo, a Day of Solidarity Action was held on the 17^th February and photos were taken and sent to IndustriALL. (TONO Haruhi)

昨年12月、バングラデシュの繊維産業の拠点であるアシュリアで、数万人の労働者が

賃上げをもとめて1週間のストライキにはいりましたが、この報復としてバングラデ

シュ政府は、非常事態法の下で組合活動家35人を逮捕・投獄し、1600人を解雇しまし

た。世界最大の国際労働団体・インダストリアルオール（IndutriALL）は、2013年に

1100人の労働者が死亡したラナ・プラザビルの崩壊事件以来、バングラデシュの労働

者の人権をもとめて活動してきましたが、バングラデシュの傘下組合員が逮捕されて

いることもあり、2月15～16日に国際キャンペーンを実施することになりました。17

日の東京総行動に参加するみなさんにも呼びかけ、写真キャンペーンを行いました。

No to union busting dismissal by JAL!

 

“It was JAL planes that deployed the Self Defense Forces to South Sudan last year, discretely. We cannot allow  military use of civilian planes. The aim of the dismissal was to get rid of workers who speak up and to destroy the union.” The plaintiff leader of the dismissed JAL pilots and flight attendants, YAMAGUCHI Hiroya, spoke at the 7^th annual general meeting of the National Alliance for the Reinstatement of Unlawfully Dismissed JAL Workers held on 16^th February. More than 200 people gathered to support this 7 years long struggle. He  was followed by UCHIDA Taeko, a dismissed flight attendant, who reported “80 percent of the plaintiffs are over sixty years old. Many of us have elderly parents to take care of. We need an early settlement and to recover our right and dignity.” 165 pilots and flight attendants were dismissed for redundancy on 31th December, 2010. The court case seeking reinstatement was lost in February 2015 at the Supreme Court. But that hasn’t stopped the workers struggle for justice. (M)

JALの組合つぶし「整理解雇」を許さない！～7年目のたたかいに向けて

「昨年末に南スーダンへ自衛隊を運んだのは日航機です。それも内緒でやっている。

民間機の軍事利用を許してはならない」。原告団長の元機長・山口宏弥さん（写真）

は語気を強めた。「JALの整理解雇は、ものいう労働者を排除し組合をつぶす目的

だったのです。いま怒りのエネルギーがたまりにたまっています」。2月16日に開か

れた「JAL不当解雇撤回国民共闘第7回総会」（東京・文京区民センター）には200人

を超える人々が集まった。7年目の長期争議になったJALのたたかい。客乗原告代表の

内田妙子さんは「原告も60歳以上が8割になった。親の介護を抱える人もいる。早く

解決したい。そして人権・尊厳を回復したい」と訴えた。2010年12月31日に整理解雇

で首を切られたのは165人のパイロット・客室乗務員で、その不当性を争う裁判は

2015年2月に最高裁で労働者側が敗訴した。しかしたたかいは続いてきた。（M）
