“Strike is fun!” – Yunoki Yasuko says in LaborNet TV
The second edition of LaborNet TV was broadcast for more than an hour from 8 PM on August 17, 2010. A program, “The Dispute”, featured Nakano Hayato who struggled against dismissal from the Japanese Rail. He looked back his struggle, saying, “My anger of having been fired without a reason had enabled me to continue my struggle for 23 years. I did not want to compromise, or I would have regretted my life”. In a corner “Tell Me, Mister!”, Yunoki Yasuko, a member of the Showa Shell Union, introduced an episode, “I enjoyed a strike 40 years ago. I fought against violent union-busting managers by pulling their belt from behind”. A youth asked her, “Isn’t it a struggle of someone special?” Ms. Yunoki answered, “My union was going to be busted even if we said something rational. It made me struggle very hard as I could not accept it”. The second broadcasting was a good opportunity to feel the standpoints of senior union activists.
