Davenroy Struggle on plant closure settled Jobs of 17 union members secured

On August 24, Davenroy Local of the National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu Union signed a mediating agreement with the company at the Tokyo Labor Relations Commission. The union has been fighting against the closure of the main factory of the Davenroy Linen Supply Co. The employment of all the 17 union members was secured by the settlement; they will be transferred to a nearby workplace and will be assigned to jobs of their choices. Furthermore, one of the members will be over 68, which is the fixed retirement age, by the end of this year, but will be allowed to continue working after that age. The union office will be provided at the new workplace and the company agreed to pay settlement money to the union. (SUDA Mitsuteru, Tokyo Tobu Union)  

 

デイベンロイ工場閉鎖争議が解決～組合員17人の雇用を守る

8 月24日夜10時、本社工場閉鎖をめぐり争議が続いていた東部労組デイベンロイ労組支部は、東京都労働委員会で会社側との和解協定書を締結しました。生産 部で最後まで闘った17人の組合員の雇用が守られました。今後は17人が通勤できる場所（大田区東糀谷）に職場を移転し、そこで働くことになります。仕事 内容も17人の希望通りの業務を認めさせました。さらには17人のうち1人は会社の制度上で定年退職になる68歳を今年迎えるものの引き続きの雇用を約束 させました。団結の象徴である組合事務所も移転地に再設置することになりました。また、会社が組合に解決金を払うことにもなりました。（東部労組・須田光 照）

“We need to live!” Davenroy workers resisting factory closure and dismissal

“They don’t understand anything.” “We requested a negotiation, but the executive director said he would call the police”. Female employees of Davenroy Linen Supply, headquartered in Tokyo, expressed their anger one after another (photo). The cleaning company is unilaterally going to close its factory and dismiss the employees. The management solicited voluntary retirement of 120 employees on April 8 and 9, 2012. In response, members of the Davenroy Local of the National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu and their supporters protested against the dismissal at Davenroy’s Omori Factory from early in the morning on both days. The demonstration rocked the factory. The union members demanded board members of the company to cancel the meeting on voluntary retirement and accept collective bargaining, but the management totally ignored the demands and forcibly started soliciting it. The factory is scheduled to be closed at the end of April.

私たちの生活を奪うな！～デイベンロイ労働者、工場閉鎖・解雇攻撃と立ち向かう

「悔 しい、なぜわかってくれないのか」「体を張って話し合いを迫ったが、専務は警察を呼ぶと言った」、デイベンロイの女性従業員（写真）は口々に怒りをぶつけ た。東京・大森のクリーニング企業「デイベンロイ・リネンサプライ」では、いま一方的工場閉鎖・解雇攻撃がかけられている。4月8日・9日には会社が、 120名の希望退職説明会を強行したため、当該（東京東部労組デイベンロイ支部）と支援の労働者が、両日早朝から、大森工場構内に集まり抗議行動を展開し た。構内はデモとシュプレヒコールで揺れた。支部組合員はストライキを決行し、説明会会場に詰めかけ、役員に中止と団交を要求した。しかし、会社はこれを 完全に無視し、説明会を強行した。4月末の工場閉鎖を目前にデイベンロイのたたかいは重大な局面を迎えた。（М）

No to shutdown of Davenroy Factory “We won’t allow any dismissals!”

The Davenroy Local of the National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu went on a one hour strike at 2 p.m. March 17^th. The union organizes laundry workers cleaning uniforms and tablecloths in Davenroy Linen Supply Co. in Ota-ku, Tokyo. Davenroy management is proposing to shut down its main Omori factory and office and dismiss all the workers. 200 supporters from other locals and unions gathered at the main office of the company  at 3 p.m. for a rally and marched around the company in the rain. After hearing solidarity messages from Zenrokyo, the National Council of National Union of General Workers, the Community Union Metropolitan Network and the Ota-ku Union Federation, the participants moved to a near-by park and marched with a big banner saying “Don’t close the Omori Head Office”. 一人のクビ切りも許さない！～デイベンロイ工場閉鎖反対でスト・集会・デモ

テーブルクロスやユニフォームを洗濯・配送しているデイベンロイリネンサプライ株式会社（本社・東京都大田区）の本社大森工場の閉鎖と本社解体・全員解雇の攻撃に反対している全国一般東京東部労組デイベンロイ労組支部は3月17日、午後2時から1時間の時限ストライキを敢行しました。午後3時からは本社構内に東部労組各支部・友好労組ら約200名の支援の仲間が結集し、雨の中で反対集会を開き、本社周辺をデモ行進しました。集会では全労協、全国一般全国協、コミュニティ・ユニオン首都圏ネット、大田区労協が連帯の挨拶。参加者は本社近くの公園に移動し、「デイベンロイは大森本社閉鎖を撤回しろ！」の横断幕を先頭にシュプレヒコールを上げながら地域をデモ行進しました。（東京東部労組） 詳細（ブログ）
