People vow never to acquiesce in Abe government’s oppression over Okinawa

“LDP members joined a standing ovation for more than 10 seconds when Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made the keynote speech, but this is nothing more than an insult to Okinawa,” NOHIRA Shinsaku said at the beginning of the rally. During the speech, Abe called to express heartfelt respect to Maritime Safety, police and members of Self-Defense Forces. Nohira continued to say that the Maritime Safety Agency officials oppress protesters of new US base in Henoko with violence and by turning over canoes. Riot police were sent to Okinawa from across Japan to eradicate people in the sit-in protests against helipad construction in Takae. SDF is also helping transport heavy machineries needed for the construction without any legitimate reason. These are the issues lawmakers should debate in the Diet.” He expressed anger toward the Abe government, which takes an oblivious stance against Okinawan democracy. “Let’s join this struggle until the government gives up by encouraging opposing public opinion of the mainland. 「自民党の議員は一斉に立ち上がり、拍手は10秒以上も続いたそうです。これはなにより、沖縄を侮辱する行為だと思います」と主催者あいさつで野平晋作さんは話した。安倍首相が国会の所信表明演説で「海上保安庁、警察、自衛隊の諸君」に「心からの敬意を表そう」と呼びかけたことに対してだ。「抗議船を転覆させ、辺野古新基地建設に反対する人々を暴力で弾圧する海上保安庁。高江のヘリパット建設に反対して座り込む住民を、力づくで引き抜く全国から派遣された機動隊。法的根拠もなくヘリで重機を搬入する自衛隊など。これは国会で問題にすべきことではないでしょうか」と。沖縄の民意など関係ないという態度を示し続ける安倍政権に怒りをぶつけた。そして「沖縄への基地押しつけに反対する本土の世論をより大きなものにし、政府が断念するまで共にがんばりましょう」と訴えた。（尾澤邦子）

Defend freedom of broadcasting from unjustified political pressure! : Statement by the Japan Federation of Commercial Broadcast Workers' Unions

The Liberal Democratic Party, Japan’s major party, continues to intervene in TV programs. On April 17, 2015, the party’s Research Commission on Info-Communications Strategy summoned executives of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation, a public TV station) and TV Asahi over their programs. Such a high-handed stance of the major party, using its broadcast licensing authority, is unjustified political pressure on the media and is absolutely unacceptable. The party even referred to the possibility of closure of transmission, and this is nothing other than intimidation. Since 2014, the LDP has repeatedly intervened in broadcast programs by issuing notices to the media, but this is definitely an illegal act that obviously violates Article 3 of the Broadcast Act , which guarantees “freedom to edit broadcast programs”. “Fair broadcasting” is supposed to be judged by broadcasters themselves, not unilaterally by the government.

不当な政治圧力から放送の自由を守れ！～テレビ労働者の組合「民放労連」が声明

自民党によるテレビ放送への介入が後を絶たない。去る4月17日、同党の情報戦略調査会が放送内容を理由としてＮＨＫとテレビ朝日の幹部を呼びつけて事情を聴くといった事態が起きた。政権政党が、放送の許認可権限を背景に放送局に対して高圧的な態度に出ることは報道機関に対する不当な政治圧力そのものであり、私たちは絶対に容認できない。「停波」の可能性にまで言及するなど、放送局への恫喝以外の何ものでもない。昨年来、自民党は放送局に対して文書の交付などを通じて放送内容に介入することを繰り返しているが、一連の行動は放送法第三条が保障する「放送番組編集の自由」を露骨に侵害する違法行為と言うほかない。「放送の公正」とは放送事業者が自律的に判断すべきもので、政府の一方的な判断を放送局に押しつけることを認めるものではないからだ。

Unprecedented law enables Japan to wage war

The Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito on March 20 reached an agreement on the framework of the National Security Law, which is unprecedented and enables the Self-Defense Forces to wage war any time anywhere.

 People angry with the government gathered outside the Diet with signs earlier. “You can’t rewrite the constitution in a closed door session,” “This is a coup d’etat,” “The government turned the national security law 180 degrees within a month,” the signs read. The protesters—majority of them women—directed their anger toward the government, which decided on the important issue without the democratic process.

 This marked the fifth protest drawing more than 100 people. “We expect the legislation to be proposed in May,” TAKADA Ken, president of a steering committee, said. “We are the voters. Let’s stop the war legislation by staging a massive protest around the Diet until July.” (By M)

戦争立法とんでもない！密室で勝手に決めるな！～自 公合意に激しい怒り

 
3 月20日、自公が合意した「安全保障法制の骨格」は、いつでもどこでも自衛隊が戦争 できるというトンデモないもの。この日午前9時から、怒りの市民が手に 手にメッセージボードを持って国会前に集まった。圧倒的に女性が多い。「憲法を密室で勝手に変えていいのか」「これはクーデター だ」「わずか1ヶ月で安保 法制を180度 転換した」。集会発言者の一番の怒りは、これほど重大な問題を「勝手に決めた」ことへの怒りだった。2月20日から自公協議の たびに抗議を 続けてきたこの行動も5回目になり、この日は100人以上が集まった。主催実行委員の高田健氏は「5月には法案として出てくる。主権者は私たちだ。5月3 日の憲法大集会 を皮切りに、5・6・7月は国会周辺で巨大な行動を起こして、戦争法制を絶対に阻止しよう」と厳しい表 情で訴えた。（M） 

Parents of Koroshi victim ask LDP: “Will you let WATANABE stand?

June 28 the parents of MORI Mina, who killed herself due to overwork at Watami, visited Liberal Democratic Party headquarters to ask party leaders why it was sending a person who intentionally killed their daughter to the parliament. WATANABE Miki, ex-president of the Watami fast-food restaurant chain, is going to stand for the upcoming upper house election from the LDP in the proportional representation constituency. Mori’s father, Takeshi, strongly criticized Mori at the press conference. “Watami’s motto is ‘Work 24 hours a day 365 days a year till your die’. So I can say the company deliberately killed my daughter. They employed her with the intention to kill her and made her work for low wages and said they were not accountable for her death. ワタミ過労自死遺族が自民党に要請～「死ぬまで働け」の渡邉美樹でいいのか
娘を殺そうと思って殺した人間を、国政の場に送りだすので本当にいいのかと、自民党に問いたいと、ワタミで長時間労働を強いられ過労自死に追いやられた森美菜さんの両親が、６月２８日自民党本部をおとずれた。渡邉美樹前ワタミフードサービス会長を参院選比例区候補として擁立する件について、自民党に考え直すよう要請した。「２４時間３６５日死ぬまで働け」というワタミの理念は、「殺すつもりで殺したと言ってもいい。殺意を持って娘を雇い、低賃金でギリギリまで使って殺したあとには、『責任はない』と言う。確信犯と呼んでいいのではないか」と記者会見で語気を強めたのは、美菜さんの父・豪さんだった。自民党本部には何を伝えるつもりかとの質問に、豪さんは「単純素朴に聞きたいだけです。『こういう人で本当にいいのですか』と」と答えた。（松元ちえ）
