‘Don’t change constitution, change the government’

 

 Some 1,800 people, led by Japan’s youths, took to the streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo, on May 21 to raise their voices against constitutional revision and in demand for change of government as passersby cheered on.

 The demonstration was staged after an event that gave a platform for young people to discuss the constitution.

 Some held a sign that read, “The pacifist constitution is our jem stone,” while another said, “We want a country where we can raise our children without concerns.”

 “We are at a turning point in history,” a Kobe College professor spoke to the crowd, adding that there would be a light at the end of a long and hard tunnel if we continue the struggle with civil society against revisionists in demand for liberty and individual’s dignity.

「憲法変えるな 政治を変えろ」～若者たちがサウンドデ モ

5月21日「若者憲法集会」が東京・世田谷区民会館 ホールで開かれた。全体会には

「平和憲法は宝」「安心して子育 てできる国に」などのプラカードを手にして1000

人が参加。「私 と憲法」と題した青年のスピーチや、「石川康宏さん×青年で憲法

を語ろう！」などの企画があった。神戸女学院大学教授の石川さ んは「今はまさに

『歴史の分岐点』だ」と反動的な改憲派と自由 と個人の尊厳を求める市民運動との

闘いの時と分析し、今は苦し い上り坂だが、上り切れば一気に展望は開かれると青

年たちを励ま した。夕方からは、「憲法変えるな 政治を変えろデモ」が新宿で 行

われ、若者1800人がサウンド・デモで声をあげた。街中では老 若男女も交じって行

進し、声援も聞こえてきた。暴走政権・モラ ルハザード政府打倒のために、若者の

Dispatch workers protest revision of Worker Dispatch Law

On June 19^th, some 10 dispatched workers and I attended the debate on the revision of the worker dispatch law held by the Lower House plenary and committee on health, welfare and labor. Prime Minister Abe was answering questions at the Committee; “The society now needs diverse ways of working,” he said. “We need to support the transfer from irregular jobs to regular jobs and improve the working conditions of those who chose to be dispatched workers.” I thought his answer was empty talk, disconnected from the reality of casual work. Temp workers engaged in the 26 jobs designated as “requiring specialized skills” would now have to find a new job every 3 years. One of these workers was at a loss “I don’t know what to do.” At the plenary, I was scared as I listened to the approving speeches from the ruling party members. There was no logic. They just rammed down the opposition by the force of numbers, saying “We have already deliberated more than 30 hours.”

派遣法改悪、衆院採決を糾弾する！～道理なく数の力でごり押し
 

6月19日、派遣労働者10名弱と共に、衆院厚労委員会と本会議を傍聴してきました。厚労委員会での、安倍総理の答弁は、「時代は多様な働き方を求めてい る。正社員化への支援を行い、派遣を選ぶ人には待遇の改善を進める。」という実態をまったく無視した空理空論で、むなしい限りでした。専門26業種の派遣の方は、「これからどうすれば・・・。」と途方に暮れていました。本会議で、自民、公明の勝ち誇ったかのような賛成演説を聞き、空恐ろしい感じさえしまし た。道理も、理屈もなく、ただ数の力でごり押しする。反対意見には耳を傾けず、「30時間以上審議した」ことだけを振りかざす。その後の記者会見で、派遣労働者のみなさんは、泣きながら、もしくは、心底から怒って、法案可決に抗議していました。（指宿昭一）
