On October 13th, Mizuno, a Japanese sporting goods maker, failed to show up at the negotiation session with the Indonesian Panarub Dwikarya (PDK) Union. Mizuno claimed that the  negotiation was finished, according to the minutes of the negotiation with the PDK Union and Panarub Group on August 9th. After confirming Mizuno’s refusal to sit at the bargaining table, the PDK Union issued a statement on the evening of October 12th , stating “We will not stop fighting until the rights of the PDK workers are respected”. On October 16th, there were protest actions in three cities, Jakarta, Tangerang and Medan, with 200 women workers participating. Also, women activists with placards in their hands showed up at the Amsterdam Marathon, of which Mizuno was one of the sponsors. (TONO Haruhi)
