Following on from the Christmas party held in
December last year, the branch decided to hold a Hanami (flower viewing) party in Tokyo's
Yoyogi Park. It was the first event of this type that the branch had
held, and despite some worrying weather in the days beforehand, the day
itself was warm and sunny.
Some members from various Gaba learning studios got together to eat,
drink, and play frisbee under the trees. Despite the fact that
unseasonably warm weather had made the cherry blossoms bloom much
earlier than usual, there were still some remaining on the day. The
sight of the blossoms falling was a nice "in Japan" moment, and the day
was a great chance to sit and talk and enjoy each other's company. We
are looking forward to holding more social events in the future.
