On June 18, all the workers of Citizen
Precision Guangzhou Ltd, in Guangzhou City went on strike demanding a wage
raise. One of the strikers said the demand was reasonable since the basic wage
was only 1100 Yuan, from which 200 Ｙuan is deducted for social insurance. The left-over money is not
enough to make a living, given the inflation. The company is a 100% subsidiary
of Japanese watch maker, Citizen Seimitsu Co. and was established in 1997. More
than 3000 people work in the factory, producing belts and appearance components for
watches, glass and liquid crystal panels.
In another Japanese subsidiary in Guangzhou,
Guangzhou Murata Electric Power Solutions, 1000 production workers struck on
June 14 to protest the low wages and the severe labor management system. The
wage was raised from 1350 to 1500 Ｙuan on June
1, but not enough to cope with the high commodity prices. Workers have to
submit a paper to take a bathroom break, which is limited to 5 minutes. (Labornet Japan International Division)
中国・日系企業で賃上げストライキ多発～広州シチズンでは3000人
6月18日午前、中国広州市の日系企業の西鉄城精密公司（シチズン）の職員全員がストライキでベアを要求 した（写真）。ストに参加した労働者によると、基本給は1100元（約14000円）しかなく、社会保険で200元あまり引かれると、数百元しか残らず、 物価高騰が激しく生活できないので、賃上げは正当な要求だ、という。広州西鉄城精密公司は、日本のシチズン株式会社の独資企業で1997年に設立された。 腕時計の外装やベルト、 光学ガラス、液晶パネルなどを製造しており、3000人余りが働く。また中国広州の日本企業・村田電源の工場でも、6月14日に、生産現場の全労働者 1000人がストを打ち、低賃金と厳しい人事管理制度に抗議した。労働者によると、会社は6月1日から賃金を1350元から1500元に引き上げたが、物 価高騰でまったく生活費の足しにならず、しかも厳しい労務管理で、トイレは5分以内で、作業中にトイレに行くための許可書も数十人に一枚しかないという。 （レイバーネット国際部）
