I attended an open meeting of an
international symposium titled “Current Situation and Challenges Faced by Asian
Women Workers ~ Connecting and Being Connected Now and Future” held at Meiji
University, Tokyo on 27th October. 80 people, including guests from
South Korea, Hong Kong and India, participated. The meeting was proposed by CAW
Net Japan, that has connected women workers in Asia and Japan for 30 years. 9
organizations, including Asia-Japan Women’s Resource Center, Action Center for
Working Women, Precariat Union, set up an organizing committee to prepare the
symposium. (OZAWA Kuniko)
