No way to pass constitutional revision by cabinet approval

A 1,000-persons committee to never allow war on May 20 began its protest against a coup that revises interpretation of the constitution. MAEDA Tetsuo, a military critic, gave a talk to about 200 people and 10 lawmakers at an event, in which he criticized the report of advisory panel on reconstruction of the legal basis for security from the historical and international perspective. The report was submitted on May 15. After the event, the participants protested at the prime minister’s residence that the Abe administration is trying to pass the most important legislature by cabinet decision. “You can’t decide on any constitutional issues only within the cabinet,” people shouted. “You must go through deliberations at the diet and hold a referendum.” (By M)

5.15 の解釈改憲クーデターを許すなと、5月20日「戦争をさせない1000人委員会」が本格的に動きはじめた。この日約200名を集めて院内集会が開かれ、軍 事評論家の前田哲男氏が講演。5月15日に出された「安保法制懇報告書」を歴史的・国際的視点から批判した。民主党・社民党など10人の国会議員も参加し た。集会後、参加者は官邸前に移動し、官邸に向けて抗議の声を上げた。リレースピーチで強調されたことは、安倍政権が改憲というもっとも大事なことを「閣 議決定」で決めようとしている点だった。「国会でも審議せず、国民投票にもかけず、選挙公約もしていない憲法問題を閣議で決めていいのか！」。怒りの発言 が続いた。（M） 写真速報

Youths Raise Voice against PM Abe. "Constitutional Revision? No kidding!"

A protest action against the constitutional revision and other policies Prime Minister ABE Shinzo's administration took place on June 8 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The participants gathered in a small square near the railway station late in the afternoon, holding signs, flags and musical instruments. They voiced opposition to the overall vision presented by the Abe administration and to respective policies regarding nuclear power generation, constitutional revision, U.S. Military bases in Okinawa, Trans Pacific Partnership and increasing poverty. They called for actions by individual citizens to create an alternative future and solidarity with the world. The administration's policies are extremely problematic, their proposal for the constitutional revision is harmful, we must raise our voices to change course, said DJ Tetsu, the representative of the demonstration organizers. "We say No! to Abe 'cause he destroys the constitution, 'cause he deprives us of freedom, 'cause the gap between the rich and the poor will widen," they chanted in rap music style. (By OZAWA Kuniko)

安倍のつくる未来はいらない！改憲なんて冗談じゃない！～若者が声上げる

６月8日、「安倍のつくる未来はいらない！改憲なんて冗談じゃない！」という集会とデモに参加しました。東京・新宿のアルタ前には午後5時過ぎから人が集ま り、いつの間にかプラカードや旗や楽器を持った人たちの集団になっていました。原発、改憲、沖縄、TPP、貧困などなど、安倍政権の目指す「未来像」は全 体的に間違っているし、そんな「未来」なんて来てほしくない！私たちの行動が未来をつくる、一人一人の声は世界とつながっているとよびかけていました。よ びかけ人を代表してテツさんが、安倍政権の問題は山積み、改憲は改悪だ、声を上げようとよびかけました。そしてラップ調のコールで「安倍はヤダ」「憲法変 えるからヤダ」「自由がなくなるからヤダ」「格差が拡がるからヤダ」など訴えました。（尾澤邦子）
