Mourners for murdered hostages protest against Prime Minister in silence

The solemn gathering in front of the prime minister’s office was filled with sorrow and quiet anger though surrounded by nearly 50 reporters. In the evening of Feb. 1, some 200 people participated in the protest called for by Citizens’ Network against Constitutional Revision were calm, but apparently shocked.  One of the signs held by them read “Only the diplomacy for not making enemies can protect Japanese people,” expressing a strong criticism against the prime minister who induced the tragedy and keeps provoking terrorists with aggressive words. ”I am too appalled to say anything. It is really tragic that we have the prime minister like him,” said OKI Seiko, a peace activist, after searching for words for a few seconds as she was asked what she wanted to say to Prime Minister Abe. （By M）

「敵を作らない外交こそが日本人を守る」～哀しみと 抗議のサイレントアクション

 
2 月1日 夕方、官邸前は哀しみと静かな怒りに包まれた。「許すな!憲法改悪・市民 連絡会」が呼びかけた「哀しみと抗議の官邸前サイレント・アクション」であ る。約200人 の市民と50人近いメディアでごったがえしたが、静けさと呆然とした参加 者の表情が印象的だった。メッセージボードに書かれた「敵を作らな い外交こそが日本人を守る」という文字。今回の事態を誘発しテロに屈しないと好戦的姿勢をむき出しにする安倍首相への痛烈な批判だった。平和活動家の大木 晴子さんは「安倍さんに言いたいことは？」の問いに、しばらく言葉につまりながらも、「もの言えないほどあきれています。この人 が日本のトップだというこ とは悲惨なことです」と語った。（M）

‘ABE Shinzo must rescue Kenji!’ ～Angry action at PM residence

People demanded on Jan. 25 that the government save the Japanese nationals taken hostage amidst the news report on the murder of YUKAWA Haruna and GOTO Kenji’s appeal for help. The crowd grew larger as the night fell. Many held the signs reading, “I am NOT ABE.” People were furious over Prime Minister Abe for they believed that he instigated this hostage crisis.

 Their cries of anger got louder to the drum beat, “Sinzo Abe, stop picking fights! Sinzo Abe, protect lives! Sinzo Abe, rescue Kenji!”

 TANAKA Ken of the Citizens’ Network against Constitutional Revision appealed by saying “The responsibility of Prime Minister Abe is heavy. But we are worried that he takes advantage of this crisis to push ahead with the dispatch of Self-Defense Forces and the execution of the right to collective self-defense.  「安倍晋三はケンジ を救え！」～官邸前で怒りの緊急行動

「イスラム国」人質事件で湯川遙菜さ んが殺害され、後藤健二さんがYouTubeに救出アピールを発表する事態の中、1月25日「怒りのドラム隊」 が午後4時から、「許すな!憲法改悪・市民連絡会」が午後6時から、それぞれ官邸前で抗議行動を行った。 参加者は膨れあがり数百名規模になった。「I am NOT ABE」のプラカードが目立つ。事態を引き起こした 安倍首相への怒りは大きい。「安倍晋三はケンカを売るな！ 安倍晋三は命を守れ！ 安倍晋三はケンジを救 え！」ドラムに合わせた怒りの叫びが続いた。市民連絡会の高田健さんは「安倍首相の責任は重大。しか しかれはこの事件を逆に使って、自衛隊派兵・集団的自衛権行使を推進する心配もある。しっかり監視し ていこう」と呼びかけた。(M)
