Stop the boring at Henako! 23rd August Tokyo action in solidarity with Okinawa

As a step towards moving the Futenma airbase, the government started an offshore boring survey at Henako, Nago City,. Protest action was held simultaneously in Okinawa and Tokyo on 23^rd August. At 2 pm, people gathered on the pavement in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in central Tokyo. The organizer of the rally started the session with a report of the protest actions in front of the Camp Schwab gate in Henako. “The government disclosed the construction site by placing buoys on 18^th August. The Coast Guard  is  harassing activists trying to get near the buoys on canoes. Canoes are overturned and casualties have been reported. We denounce this suppression strongly. Our action in Tokyo is reported to the people on the sea in Henako”.  

It was reported that 3600 people, a record high,  gathered in front of the Camp Schwab gate. The urgent protest action in Tokyo gathered 450 participants, who expressed solidarity with the people of Okinawa. (Y)

辺野古のボーリング調査強行を許すな！～8.23沖縄集会に連帯して官邸前行動

米軍普天間飛行場の移設に伴う、名護市辺野古沖での海底ボーリング調査強行に抗議する行動が８月23日、現地沖縄と東京で同時に取り組まれ、参加した人々は防衛省と安倍政権を厳しく糾弾した。午後2時前。不安定な天候のなか、東京・千代田区の首相官邸前の歩道に続々と人が集まってくる。司会者がキャンプシュ ワブのゲート前の様子を伝えながら、集会が始まった。「この闘いは、海上で闘っている人にも届いている。18日にブイが設置されたが、近づいた人を海上保安庁（海保）が弾圧。カヌーは転覆させられ、負傷者も出ている。こうした行為を徹底して糾弾する」。現地のゲート前には、これまでで最高の3600人が集まったと伝えられた。官邸前では 約450人が1時間の緊急抗議行動で連帯を表明、気勢をあげた。（Ｙ）

Message from Miyagi: No to nuclear waste disposal!

On 22^nd August, the weekly Friday Protest Action in front of the Prime Minister’s Office was held to stop the re-start of the nuclear power plants. Among the speakers was a man from Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture.

“In Miyagi, the government is trying to build waste disposal sites in three municipalities to cope with radiation contaminated waste from the de-contamination operation. The local people are raising their voices to stop the plan. The government is pressing for the restart, but cannot manage the water leak at Fukushima Daiichi and the waste disposal issue. It’s really a contradiction. I’m mad about the public comment session, for the government is only asking for scientific and technological comments. The water leak and the waste disposal issue show the lack of scientific and technological control capability on the side of the government and the Nuclear Regulation Authority. We really have to stop the restart”. (shinya)

「仙台から来ました、核処理場は許せない」～8.22再稼働反対！官邸前行動

「宮城県の仙台から来ました。いま宮城県では、国が核汚染物質の処理場を３自治体に押しつけようとし大問題となって、地元では大きな反対の声が起きています。そもそも汚染水問題にしても処理場にしても、一方で再稼働を進めながら押しつけるのは、本当に矛盾があります。パブリックコメントの中で、科学的、技術的 意見を求めていることには頭にきます。汚染水問題にしても、処理場問題にしても、原発に対する科学的・技術的な制御能力のないことを示しているのが今の日本政府と規制委員会ではないでしょうか。なんとしても再稼働をやめさせましょう｣。（shinya） 写真報告

Stop single crew operation at Sukiya Statement of the Tokyo Youth Union

Tokyo Youth Union issued a statement after a third party committee on the improvement of working conditions in Sukiya chain restaurant released a report of its survey and Zensho, the managing company of the chain, gave a press conference.

The statement demands that Zensho stop single crew operation immediately and  improve  working conditions.

Since 2013, the Tokyo Youth Union has organized employees of the fast-food chain restaurant and has been pressing the company to resolve the problems through collective bargaining. The union argues that the fast food chain's practice of having employees work alone on the midnight shift, is against the Labor Standards Law, because workers cannot take break time stipulated by the Law. Zensho has failed to address the problem and refused to negotiate with the union, saying “If the union wants to negotiate the working conditions of workers in all the chain restaurants, we will not sit at the table”.

「すき家」のワンオペを即時廃止せよ！～首都圏青年ユニオンが声明

首都圏青年ユニオンは、すき家の労働環境改善に関する第三者委員会の調査報告書の発表とゼンショーの会見を受けて、すき家で働く従業員を組合員としている労働組合として、以下の声明を発表する。１、ゼンショーは、ワンオペの即時廃止と労働条件の改善を行え 。首都圏青年ユニオンは、団体交渉などにより、調査報告書に見られるような実態をゼンショーに突き付け、解決を迫ってきた。特に深夜１人で働く「ワンオペ （ワン・オペレーション）」については、２０１３年１月の団体交渉の申し入れでも「法定休憩が取れず、労働基準法違反である」旨を、追及していたが、ゼン ショーは具体的な対策をとってこなかった。ゼンショーは今年７月１１日の段階でも「すき家全店におけるものであれば、団体交渉には応じない」旨の回答に終始し、問題に向き合うことなく、話し合いを事実上拒否し続けてきた。（首都圏青年ユニオン）
