Victory for Malugo workers fighting for their jobs

 

Five members of the Malugo branch of the National Union of General Workers, Tokyo Tobu have been occupying a model gun shop in Tokyo since the end of last year to protest  closure of the shop. On 28^th February, the union signed an agreement with the company stating that the company will retract the unfair dismissal, turn over the shop inventory to the workers as severance payment, and  lend the workers a nearby shop   so that they can continue the business. This is a victory for the workers who didn’t give in and for all Tobu Union members and supporters. The new shop “Take Five” will open in early March near Ueno station. (SUDA Mitsuteru)

東部労組マルゴー支部の職場占拠闘争が解決！～新店舗「Take Five」で雇用を守る

上野・アメ横でモデルガンなどを販売しているミリタリーショップ「マルゴー」 の

労働者でつくる全国一般東京東部労組マルゴー支部の組合員５人は、昨年末から一方

的な店舗閉鎖と全員解雇に反対するために職場占拠闘争を続けてきましたが、2月28

日、社長との解決合意書を締結調印しました。不当解雇を撤回し、職場占拠していた

マルゴー本店の在庫商品を社長が退職金として組合員に譲渡し、組合員自身が今後行

う営業再開のために社長がアメ横で使用権を持つ本店とは別の店舗を貸与するという

のが主な解決内容です。泣き寝入りせずに最後まであきらめない組合員５人の体を

張った闘いと、東部労組よってたかっての団結、全国の労働者の支援で、組合員の職

場と生活を守ることができました！ なお、同支部組合員が営業を行う新店舗はマル

ゴー本店よりも上野駅寄りにある区画で、新たな店名は「Take Five」です。３月上

旬をめどにオープンをめざしています。（須田光照）

‘Malugo should withdraw unfair dismissal!’ ～Workers strike against sudden business closure, dismissal〜

 

Workers of Malugo Ltd, which sells model guns and other imported goods in   Ameyoko district of Ueno, Tokyo, went on strike on Dec. 13 in demand for reinstatement. They are members of the Malugo branch of the National Union of General Workers, Tokyo Tobu. Malugo President KANEKO summoned the employees on Dec. 12, and together with his lawyer, suddenly announced the store closure and their dismissal.  “I’ll pay you one-month allowance required by law on sudden dismissal,” he said. “but you must leave today with all your belongings.” The workers organized themselves and formed a labor union four years ago, but the company had never consulted with the union about the store closure till that day. It was a bolt out of the blue to the workers.  It is unjust to dismiss workers, some of whom had contributed to the company more than 30 years, as if they were totally insignificant. アメ横のマルゴーは不当解雇を撤回しろ！～「いきなり閉鎖・解雇」許さずスト決行
上野・アメ横ガード下でモデルガンなどを販売している株式会社マルゴーの労働者でつくる労働組合「全国一般東京東部労組マルゴー支部」は、12月13日、不当解雇を撤回させるためのストライキ行動に入りました。マルゴーの金子社長は、12月12日に従業員を集め、弁護士とともにいきなり当日の店舗閉鎖と全員の解雇を通告しました。「１カ月分の予告手当は支払うが、今日中に私物を持ち帰って退去しろ」という乱暴きわまりない不当解雇です。マルゴーには４年前に全従業員で結成した私たちの労働組合があります。ところが、当日まで組合とはまったく話し合いもなく、相談もありませんでした。従業員にとっては「寝耳に水」です。従業員の中には30年以上もマルゴーでまじめに働き、会社に貢献してきた人もいます。それを虫けら同然に扱う不当解雇です。（東京東部労組・須田光照）
