"Most Evil Corporation of the Year" Awards Committee nominates NHK, eight companies

The committee announced this year’s nomination for awards for corporate malpractices on Nov. 27. They are Zeria Pharmaceutical Co., Inageya supermarket, Panasonic, Niigata Shimin Hospital and others, most of which have reported karoshi deaths over excess work. NHK, which is a public broadcasting corporation overseen by the Internal Affairs Ministry, reported a death of a 31-year-old reporter in July 2013. Next year, the cause of her death was confirmed a cardiac arrest due to long work hours, and the case was officially approved as a worker’s compensation issue. The investigation by her family showed her overtime hours before she died was 209 hours. NHK finally announced this karoshi case in October, but the bereaved family claims it is a “human error” due to management failure.

 The public voting for the awards is open until Dec. 22, and the announcement ceremony would be held on Dec. 23. (By M)

「31歳女性記者の過労死」NHKなど9社〜今年のブラック企業大賞ノミネート

11月27日、厚労省記者クラブで今年のブラック企業大賞ノミネート企業が発表された。選ばれたのは、ゼリア新薬工業、いなげや、パナソニック、新潟市民病院、NHK、引越社、大成建設・三信建設、大和ハウス工業、ヤマト運輸など9社で、法を無視した長時間労働による過労死のケースが多い。NHKは、放送法に基づく公共放送で総務省が所管する外郭団体である。そこでは、2013年7月、当時31歳だった女性記者がうっ血性心不全で死亡する事件が起きた。2014年、女性の死因は長時間労働による過労が原因であるとして労災認定された。遺族側の調査では、亡くなる直前の残業時間は月209時間とされている。NHKは、今年10月になって、女性の過労死事件があったことをやっと公表したが、遺族は、NHKの労務管理に不備があったために過労死が発生したとして、「人災である」としている。27日よりウェブ投票が始まり、大賞および各賞の発表は12月23日（土）に行われる。はたして、NHKは今回の「ブラック企業」関連ニュースを報道するのだろうか。（M）

We don’t want Abe-Channel! ～1,000 people protest at NHK

 Angry calls bounced against NHK Center in Tokyo’s trendy Shibuya district on Aug. 25, when many people fed up with Japan’s public broadcasting station.

 The action titled, “Stop broadcasting to flatter the political power! Let’s surround NHK with our angry voices,” was organized by a group of NHK viewers. The signs reading, “We don’t want Abe-Channel! “ and “Momii (NHK chairperson) should resign!” were put up.

 A group representative from Kyoto said in his opening speech that people protested against NHK across the nation and that a cozy relationship between the executive board controlling the politics section of the newsroom and Momii clinging onto the chair post is causing the corruption. Following the speech, Kaenbin (molotov cocktail) Tetsu took the stage and said, “A while ago, NHK suddenly stopped a live broadcast of the ongoing parliamentary session to save Abe thrown into confusion by the persistent questioning from YAMAMOTO Taro (lower house member).”

Protesters repeatedly called out in angry voices, “Shame on you!” NAGATA Kozo, a former NHK producer, excitedly appealed, “I hope that NHK won’t commit suicide with Abe.” (By HAYASHI Junichi)

 アベチャンネルにするな！～NHK包囲行動に1000人集まる

 ８ 月２５日（火）夕刻、渋谷NHKセンター前は「政権べったりの報道をやめろ！ 怒りの声でNHKを包囲しよう」というＮＨＫ包囲行動委員会の呼びかけに応えた人々で、埋め尽くされた。そして「アベチャンネルにするな！」「籾井はやめ ろ！」のプラカードが掲げられた。京都から来た会の代表は、今日は全国各地でNHKへの抗議が行われているとまず冒頭であいさつ。そして、政治部を牛耳る 幹部と会長に居座るモミイの癒着が今日の腐敗を招いていると指摘した。火焔瓶テツさんも登場、「さっきNHKは山本太郎の追及にしどろもどろになったアベ を助けるために、突然中継を打ち切りました」と発言。参加者は怒りをこめて「NHKは恥を知れ！」のコールを繰り返した。また西門前の集会では、元NHK プロデューサーの永田浩三さんが「NHKは安倍さんと心中してほしくない」と熱く訴えた。（林淳一）

Down with railroading of the “War Bill”: People protest in front of the Parliament House

In the afternoon of July 15, 2015, the unconstitutional “War Bill” was forcefully passed at the special committee of the House of Representatives. The forcible passage angered many demonstrators in front of the Parliament House. They never stopped chanting, “Down with the War Bill!” and “Down with Abe!” A university student who joined the protest for the first time angrily said, “Why doesn’t the government listen to the people?” NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster, failed to report the discussions at the committee, so it was deluged with protest calls. The broadcasting station mentioned the reason of not having reported the discussions as a “comprehensive judgment”, but it was definitely complicit in the passage of the “War Bill”. 「強行採決糾弾」の大コール～国会正門前に怒りの市民が結集

7月15日昼すぎ、衆議院特別委員会で「戦争法案」が強行採決された。国会正門前を埋めたたくさんの人々から、激しい怒りの声が上がった。「採決糾弾」「安倍はやめろ」の大コールは止むことがなかった。この日初めて参加した大学生は「政府は国民の声を聞かないのか」と憤る。また、NHKが午前の締めくくり審議を中継しなかったため、抗議電話がNHKに殺到した。「総合的な判断」と中継しない理由を広報が述べていたが、NHKが今回の「戦争法案」成立に加担した「罪」は重い。国会周辺には続々と抗議の市民が集まっており、夜には大抗議行動が予定されている。（M）
