Give Nobel Peace Prize to Article 9!~Norway Committee accepted application; Let’s further push the petition

We have organized an executive committee and launched the signature campaign to send the petition to the Nobel Committee in Norway as an effort to share, protect and make use of Article 9 of our constitution.
Because Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to individuals or groups, the constitution can’t be subjected for it. However, if EU received the prize as an organization, we think that Japanese people who have maintained the Article 9, which stipulates respect for the basic human rights and denouncement of war, for nearly 70 years after the war would also be able to get it as a group.
So far, Japanese people may not have proactively made best use of the constitution. However, under the pressure of which people in the world would seek to carry arms and press military power, we have retained the constitution, which wished for happiness and peace of humankind and renounced war and vowed never to possess military forces on our own initiatives from the remorse over war. Its contribution to the peace and stability of the world is beyond words.
